About UBC Radio

UBC Radio is the national radio service operated by the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), based in Kampala, and serves as a public broadcaster providing nationwide coverage across Uganda. It broadcasts in English and Kiswahili, taking 65% and 10%, respectively, and 25% is dedicated to programs in northern parts of West Nile (West Nile languages), which include Luo, Lugbara, Madi, Alur, Kinuubi, and Kakwa. UBC doesn’t just run one station; it manages a diverse portfolio of regional and specialized channels designed to reach every corner of the country. This radio station delivers a mix of news, current affairs, education, culture, entertainment, and music programming. As a government-owned broadcaster, it plays a key role in disseminating official information, national announcements, and public service messages.
